The list of 2018’s best real estate markets is out, and unsurprisingly to us locals, the city of Fort Worth is at the top of the list! Fort Worth ranked No. 3 among the largest U.S. cities in WalletHub’s Best Real Estate Markets of 2018 study, beating out all other big Texas cities.

To determine the rankings, WalletHub compared 300 cities and analyzed 22 key indicators of housing-market attractiveness and economic strength, including median home-price appreciation, home sales turnover rate and job growth. Fort Worth’s booming population, business-friendly climate and unique culture make it no surprise it’s considered one of the best real estate markets in the nation.

In evaluating the healthiest housing markets, experts pinpoint some of the top indicators: “Prices do not fluctuate much, accessibility to shopping, good schools (for families with or expecting to have children), neighbors in your age range and you have ready access to expressways and public transportation,” said Urban Planning and Public Policy Professor John J. Betancur in a statement to WalletHub.
